We work to improve measurement and evaluation practice in our field

We support our members in their measurement and evaluation work by providing access to practical, adaptable tools and a strong network of professional peers.

Why measurement and evaluation?

We believe that high-quality youth development programs contribute to better outcomes for young people, and that quality is higher in organizations with a strong internal culture of continuous improvement.

How do we provide measurement and evaluation support?

We are currently pursuing a multi-pronged approach to providing measurement and evaluation support:

  1. We have developed a Measurement Toolkit that serves as an evaluation framework for youth development organizations; the toolkit consists of of measurement tools, tip sheets, and planning documents for youth development leaders who are trying to build a strong data culture in their organizations.
  2. We offer a 5-part Measurement Toolkit Training Series designed to guide member organizations in the use of toolkit resources.
  3. We convene a peer learning community dedicated to tackling measurement and evaluation issues.
  4. We offer personalized technical assistance to organizations that lack internal evaluation capacity.
