Friends, Popsicles, and Laughter – YDEKC’s July Picnic and Reunion

POSTED ON August 1, 2022

On July 20th, it was so lovely to see thirty YDEKC members and friends at Jefferson Park to reconnect and have some much-needed agenda-free, in-person time together.

The last two years have been such a challenging and strange time to hold onto our networks, and create new ones, especially for folks new to King County, or new to our sector who took on the huge task of leading a nonprofit during this time. It was terrific to finally meet some of our newer members in person, and to reconnect with folks we hadn’t seen outside of Zoom boxes since our summit in 2019!

Some of the highlights of the picnic were seeing the former and current Executive Director of one organization meet back up and connect; Leadership Discussion Group members coming together and meeting in-person for (maybe) the first time; having partners from Public Health, Seattle Schools and SESEC join us, and meeting a few kids who particularly enjoyed the popsicles.

We will definitely do this again, but until then, we hope to see you again on Zoom at a Member Connect or another event.
