Youth Development Executives of King County
Working to advance the youth development field
Greetings YDEKC Members and Friends –
Our 7th annual YDEKC Member Summit last week was an inspirational and energizing day that brought together more than 50 of our executive leaders to share the challenges and opportunities we are facing as non-profit leaders supporting holistic outcomes for kids in King County. In the midst of growing disparities, evolving needs and exciting new funding through Best Starts for Kids, we grappled with the full costs and complexity of our sector. We heard from County Executive Dow Constantine about the County’s vision for “Happy, Healthy, Safe and Thriving” kids and from Sheila Capestany about the County’s Children and Youth Advisory Board’s Equity Statement and commitment. Read more here.
We look forward to partnering with you in the coming months to work towards the vision that Executive Constantine shared of happy, healthy, safe and thriving kids across our cities and County, because as several of our members stated in our Summit closing last week – “together we’re better.”
In service and gratitude,
Jessica

Our Partnership Ecosystem Toolkit cohort has been developing new communications tools that we are excited to share with you. The Youth Program Partnership Newsletter Guide will help you think through the components you may want to include, while the Youth Program Partnership Newsletter Planning Worksheet walks you through the process of putting your newsletter together. GOOD NEWS: it doesn’t need to be this way. Registration available here.
