Last week I got to spend some time with Karen Pittman, the godmother of the Positive Youth Development field, and my virtual mentor for the past 20 years. In 1999, I was an AmeriCorps*VISTA with Communities for Children in Portland, Maine. Staffing their Children’s Leadership Council, we worked to create a strategic plan and take action to improve outcomes for and with young people in that community.
