Quick Connections — Partnership Stories & Strategies

This recording is part 11 in a series highlighting strategies and tools to build and strengthen school-community partnerships, co-sponsored by School’s Out Washington and YDEKC. Our guests Venalin Aguilar of Greentrike and Chelsea McElroy of Vision Step Team described how bringing everyone to the table, setting community agreements and shared goals, and defining roles and responsibilities were strategies that enabled partners to become more aligned, connected, and in some cases even expand their reach. They emphasized that incorporating regular and intentional relationship-building and reflection into their collaborative work, and being open to conflict and feedback, have enabled this cross-sector network of expanded learning opportunities in Tacoma to retain its partners and continue to grow together.
