Greetings YDEKC Members and Friends,
Well, here we are on May the fourth, and entering Phase One tomorrow of the extended Stay Home, Stay Healthy protocols for Washington State. Our member organizations continue to offer the essential service of child care for school age children of (other) essential workers at substantially higher expense with unknown reimbursement; deliver food and technology supports to families in need; shift programming to new online models of mentoring, mindfulness, physical activities and behavioral health; and to connect with their young people in new and meaningful ways during this stressful time.
This week is Give Big in Washington state, and it’s needed more than ever! Please consider giving generously to child and youth serving organizations this week as they work to ensure young people are healthy, safe, and connected while home from school and dealing with many family stressors and uncertainties.
Grateful for all you do to support children and youth,
The YDEKC team
