Breathe in……. Breathe out……..
Greetings YDEKC Members and Friends:
Yesterday, my son turned 10. What a surreal time to be celebrating a birthday. Walkie Talkies for him to use with his next door neighbor across the fence were his favorite gift. For YDEKC, we also will be turning 10 this fall, and are working to ensure we can stay connected with you “over the fence” and across our community, while we all self-isolate. We are so thankful for all of you working to support kids who are suddenly out of school; families who are trying to ensure they have food to eat (grab & go meal sites) and a safe place to sleep; ongoing learning and at-a-distance social time with the children of first responders; all while also caring for your own health, family and community. Thank you!
As we enter week two of school closures and continued response to COVID-19, we are reaching out to share a collection of resources to keep you up to date, and to share what YDEKC is working on to ensure that we’re able to emerge stronger together on the other side. For nonprofits and businesses, please take this Economic Impact Survey by March 31st for King, Snohomish and Pierce County to share your needs.
In service and gratitude,Jessica, and the rest of the YDEKC Team: Anne, Hikma, Mona, Rene, Sarah and Stephanie
