Greetings YDEKC Members and Friends:
As we approach the halfway mark of summer, there is still so much uncertainty of what fall will look like for kids and families. What we do know is that community based organizations will continue to provide the essential services of in-person child care for parents who have returned to work — delivering food to families, hosting engaging virtual learning, offering behavioral health supports via telehealth, and more. Please complete this brief survey to let our partners at SOWA (and us) know what you’re offering, so we can continue to amplify field needs and share stories.
We are looking forward to seeing 200 of you at our sold out, virtual, Whole Child, Whole Day: Heart, Mind, & Body Social & Emotional Learning (SEL) Symposium that starts this Friday! To learn more about the event and the organizations and leaders sharing their ideas and practices with us this year, check out our blog posts for each day — Heart Day, Mind Day, and Body Day — and follow us on Twitter on July 24, July 31, and August 7 for daily highlights. This is our 5th annual symposium, and we hope that our participants will leave inspired and empowered to continue to build more equitable learning environments for the young people they serve — wherever that may be in the coming months.
With gratitude and commitment,
Jessica
